It was 1981. I don’t remember anything about graduation. I can’t even remember a detail of it. I can barely remember the high school I graduated from - which was one of maybe ten schools I was shuffled around over the course of my education just for the last four years alone. This school was just another one. Except for a girl named Rebecca there I really liked, I can scarcely remember anything about it. She was blond and sweet as molasses. I didn’t meet many people like that in my life after Anna at the top of the mountain in Germany. Becky always had an excuse to smile at me and she said kind things to me more than once. I was smitten with her. I knew she was going to live life with the rest of mankind but I could already hear the angel chorus of the train tunnel I would take up residence in many years later when I reached the Eyrie. I regretted I would not be going with her into a sunlight that I would never see.
