Defend The Front Yard On A Budget When The Police Have Abdicated

I have considerable personal experience with this situation and learned quite a bit from it during the Los Angeles Riots in 1992. I made do with what I could find.

I lived through the Los Angeles riots in 1992. I can assure you that if you lived right in the epicenter close to Hollywood Boulevard (we were on Martel, the primary street they came up from the south) then you got a very real glimpse of hell on earth.

I recounted those events in another narrative about twenty years ago on a forum called “Aussurvivalist” when I still lived in Australia. People took down the account I gave there of the riots and posted it hundreds of times all over the internet. In no time it became apochryphal. Funny how most of the sheeple didn’t believe any of it back then - today almost all of them who have not died from the vax yet probably think different. They are just seeing it now because they are forced to. They held out right to the moment they were diagnosed with myocardia. The truth is, modern Western government is not your parents and not your friend. They don’t give a damn about you and never did. These are the people who murdered your President and covered it up until the present day. They knew all along that Oswald never even fired a gun and are just admitting it sixty years later.

The government and the authorities and the police (“the thin blue line”) abandoned their post, their responsibilities and their fellow citizens in the Los Angeles riots. In the blink of any eye, it was every man for himself. There was absolute anarchy by the third day and the police retreated inside their stations to await the arrival of the National Guard.

I began to fortify our yard and house just in time before they arrived, with barbed wire I found in our garage, caltrops I made from roofing nails, stacks of old tires sitting in our yard to block our driveway and other steps I took with only hours to spare. I kept myself awake with coca-cola and coffee to make sure I was working even at night. I knew what to expect when they made it to my street and I knew what I would have to do to be ready.

I came in at 2:30 in the morning and my “wife” was up watching television, unable to sleep from fear. She asked if I was ever coming to bed. I told her I would be working through the night wiring the barbed wire to the top of our yard fencing. I had learned in the Army that sometimes it is necessary to skip sleep where the rubber hits the road. Nobody would care if I failed to be ready when the rioters arrived. There was no excuse and no failure as an option and the first casualty was rest of any kind until I had secured our property. I miss that guy, he was hard as nails. That’s before the witch I married kept me 25 years without love, sex or even human contact. It wore me down and I don’t know if I am that same guy anymore. I certainly was then at age 27.

In times of major social unrest or collapse, protecting your home and family becomes your only priority. Fortifying your front yard against potential raiders doesn’t require expensive materials or complex engineering. By focusing on simple, cost-effective, and low-effort strategies, most homeowners can create a defensive perimeter to deter threats and ensure safety. This post outlines practical steps to secure your property, emphasizing affordable solutions that require minimal expertise or labor. From leveraging natural barriers to reinforcing entry points, these methods prioritize deterrence, visibility, and strategic planning to keep raiders at bay.

The Vault-Co tech zeitgeist is dirt cheap, easy adoption, low skill, efficient effort and quick response time. This is how to protect your yard and property with only a day’s notice at most. I’m not going to tell you everything in this article only costs $1.99 but that’s what I am aiming for most of the time.

It’s not all ready at zero hour - some of my advice will concern basic decisions you make much earlier. They are useful if you are thinking now about fortifying your home and property before you only have 24 hours left.

Remember, I did it once before. I could do it again on short notice. My methods worked and they were very fast to implement. That makes this post worth reading because it is testimony from somebody who was there and has done it successfully in the midst of what certainly qualifies as a genuine “Black Swan” event.

The good riot heralds any cause, to paraphrase Nietzsche. The rage that is always boiling there forever needs to seek an outlet sooner or later. Everything is a flashpoint so always be ready.
