This is one of the finest books ever written on practical survival and it is now free for the next generation of prepared patriots! Mel Tappan was the godfather of the modern preparedness movement and this classic collection of his writings is an indispensable resource for information on how to develop a survival mind-set, identify the best survival locations, store food, maintain communications, select firearms and much more. It has an excellent foreword by Jerry Pournelle, the author of the superb LUCIFER’s HAMMER novel describing the unique appeal of Tappan's writings and personality, puts Tappan's role in the survivalist movement in historical perspective and explains why his work is still highly relevant today.
All three men (Tappan, Saxon, Clayton) did not advocate revolution or even sedition in any of their writings yet all three were secretly under surveillance by the FBI according to documents released under the Freedom of Information Act!! Making too much sense in popular culture was regarded as a crime by the government when these men began to write.
Do you know why the government was afraid of these three guys? They were communicating the conviction the U.S. government was useless and was no longer interested in the survival of it’s own people.
You won’t find a better guide to starting out as a survivalist than this book, it’s all about the basics. I personally feel it is more relevant than the day it was originally published.
This version is not big on presentation - it’s 92 plain-typeset pages of useful information and answers to questions that people ask all the time even now. That also means it is an incredibly small download about 690K, about the size of the RAM available under MS-DOS 6 !! That makes it a must have in my estimation.
