I will be damned if I would author any system which would allow outsiders to spy on you in your retreat or shelter. They’ve got enough spyware in your house as it is.

Ingsoc and Big Brother are already long here. It’s worse than anything fiction could have conjured up. As in the book, deep down most of the population loves him and obeys him. They worship the State and have forgotten God Almighty.

It’s looking through your windows. From the inside.

It knows the hours you keep and when you go to sleep and when you awake. When you leave for work and when you return.

It knows what bedroom you sleep in and where your kids sleep.

It is listening for your heartbeat, stress levels and radar mapping the interior with your automated vacuum cleaner.

It is recording every conversation, every mention and every discussion. It will hold every word you ever speak against you with the help of a battalion of AI intelligent agents analyzing your speech and behavior.

It listens to you at night and even records you muttering in your sleep or to yourself during the day.

All the time now. It’s fully automated and comprehensive enough to know you better than anyone else does.

It knows your exact energy requirements and it will convict you of crimes in absence of any laws concerning offenses against “sustainability.”

It will use data to make you ashamed of who knows what, sexual preferences or greed or envy or even a certain tone you use on some subjects.
